Mounting Bracket for 550 Watt DC Motor – Compatible With Basic & Pro Series Headstocks
This upgraded motor mounting bracket is designed specifically for the new 550 watt DC motor system used on Mid-America lathes. It bolts directly into the T-slot on any Mid-America headstock and is the standard bracket included with all 2026 Basic Series Lathes. It is also fully compatible with Pro Series machines when upgrading to the 550W DC motor package.
The system consists of two components—the mounting bar and the motor plate. The mounting bar is the same design used across our motor systems, ensuring proper fitment in all Mid-America headstocks. However, the motor plate is specifically designed for the 550 watt DC motor and differs from the 3/4 HP plate configuration.
Both components can be purchased separately, but you will need both for a complete motor conversion unless you already have the correct mounting bar installed.
This bracket system uses the same belt spacing and motor positioning as our larger motor systems, allowing for proper alignment and excellent clearance behind the headstock.
